Furthermore, he must have a good reputation and be well thought of by those outside [the ekklesia], let he become involved in slander and incur reproach and fall into the devil's trap.

Moreover, it is a necessity in the nature of the case for him also to be having an excellent testimony from those on the outside, lest he fall into reproach and into the snare of the devil.

He should, in addition to the above, have a good reputation with the outside world, in case his good name is attacked and he is caught by the devil that way.

He must also have a good reputation with outsiders, or else he may incur reproach and fall into the devil's trap.
