And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things which are,

and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are,

He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things - and the things that are not - to nullify the things that are.

And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is low-born and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,

And those individuals among the world of sinners, who are not of royal or noble ancestry but belong to the common people and those who are utterly despised, God selected out for Himself, the aforementioned classes of individuals looked upon as nonentities, in order that He might deprive of force, influence, and power those who think themselves to be somewhat,

He has chosen things of little strength and small repute, yes and even things which have no real existence, to explode the pretensions of the things that are -

what the world calls of low degree, yea, what it counts as nothing and what it thinks does not exist, God chose to put a stop to what it thinks exists,
