The elderly elder [of the ekklesia addresses this letter] to the elect (chosen) lady (Cyria) and her children, whom I truly love - and not only I but also all who are [progressively] learning to recognize and know and understand the Truth -
The Elder, to the selected-out Lady [selected out by sovereign grace for salvation], and to her born-ones, whom, as for myself, I love in the sphere of the truth [with a love in Christ ministered by the Holy Spirit], and not only I, but also all who have come to know experientially the truth and at present possess a knowledge of it,
This letter comes from the Elder to a lady chosen by God and her children, held in the highest affection not only by me but by all who know the truth.
