And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge,

Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence (virtue), and in your moral excellence knowledge;

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;

For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence),

And for this very cause, having added on your part every intense effort, provide lavishly in your faith the aforementioned virtue, and in the virtue experiential knowledge,

For this very reason you must do your utmost from your side, and see that your faith carries with it real goodness of life. Your goodness must be accompanied by knowledge,

Now for this very reason you must do your level best to supplement your faith with moral character, moral character with knowledge,
