Hebrews 12:25

Greek/English Interlinear with Strong’s Numbers

King James Version

See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven:
New King James Version

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,
New American Standard Bible

See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape (were not escaping) when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less (more/not) shall we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven.
New International Version

See to it that you do not refuse Him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from Him who warns us from heaven?
The Amplified Bible

So see to it that you do not reject Him or refuse to listen to and heed Him Who is speaking [to you now]. For if they [the Israelites] did not escape when they refused to listen and heed Him Who warned and divinely instructed them [here] on earth [revealing with heavenly warnings His will], how much less shall we escape if we reject and turn our backs on Him Who cautions and admonishes [us] from heaven?
Wuest’s Expanded Translation

Constantly be seeing to it that you do not disavow Him who is speaking. For if, as is the case, those did not escape who disavowed [any personal relation to] Him that warned [them] upon earth, much rather shall we not escape who are turning away from the One who is speaking from heaven.
Phillips’ Modern English

So be sure you do not refuse to hear the voice that speaks. For if they who refused to hear those who spoke to them on earth did not escape, how little chance of escape is there for us if we refuse to hear the One who speaks from Heaven.
Williams’ Language of the People

See to it that you do not refuse to listen to Him who is speaking to you. For if they did not escape, because they refused to listen to him who warned them here on earth, how much less can we, if we reject Him who is from heaven?

My Son, My Son; Twisted Scriptures - Neil Girrard - ( in Adobe/pdf format ) The “spiritual fathering” teachers, from Paul and Peter calling Timothy, Titus, Onesimus and Mark their “sons,” have concocted a teaching that says that all men must have a “spiritual father” and any one who does not have one is an orphan who is destitute of any real place in the order and family of God.
