That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. |
that you may walk properly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing. |
so that you may behave properly toward outsiders and not be in any need. |
so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. |
So that you may bear yourselves becomingly and be correct and honorable and command the respect of the outside world, being dependent on nobody [self-supporting] and having need of nothing. |
in order that you may be conducting yourselves in a manner becoming to you [as children of God] toward those who are on the outside, in order that you may not be having need of anything. |
Then the world outside will respect your life, and you will never be in want. |
so that you may live influentially with the outsiders, and not be dependent on anybody. |

- Misusing Wealth; Lords of Darkness - Neil Girrard Man’s fallen nature gives him a virtually unshakable allegiance to social standards that are based, not on a divine perspective nor even on valuing honest work, but on the belief that real achievement consists in imitating and emulating the wealthy leisure class.
