I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: |
Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. |
Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; |
Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. |
Therefore I do not run uncertainly (without definite aim). I do not box like one beating the air and striking without an adversary. |
As for myself, therefore, I so run, in no uncertain manner. I so swing my fists, not as one who, when fighting, misses his opponent, merely beating the air and not striking a straight blow which finds its target. |
I run the race then with determination. I am no shadow-boxer, I really fight! |
So that in this way I run, with no uncertainty as to winning. That is the way I box, not like one who punches the air. |
