
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

Let no one continue to be deceiving himself. If, as is the case, anyone among you thinks himself to be wise in the sphere of the things of this age, let him become a fool [in the estimation of this age] in order that he may become wise.
Let no one be under any illusion over this. If any man among you thinks himself one of the world's clever ones, let him discard his cleverness that he learn to be truly wise.
Let no one deceive himself. If anyone of you supposes that he is wise in this world's wisdom, as compared with the rest of you, to become really wise he must become a fool.
