Therefore hath He mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will hardeneth.

Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and whom He wills He hardens.

So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.

Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.

So then He has mercy on whomever He wills (chooses) and He hardens (makes stubborn and unyielding the heart of) whomever He wills.

Therefore, then, upon whom He desires, He shows mercy; and whom He desires to harden, He hardens.

It seems plain, then, that God chooses on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will harden in their sin.

So He has mercy on any man that He chooses to, and He hardens any man that He chooses to harden.
