But He answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?

He replied to them, And why also do you transgress and violate the commandment of God for the sake of the rules handed down to you by your forefathers (the elders)?

And answering, He said to them, As for you, why are you also side-stepping the commandment of God because of the precepts handed down to you?

"Tell Me," replied Jesus, "why do you break God's commandment through your tradition?

But He answered, "Why do you too break God's command for the sake of the rules that have been handed down to you?
