O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
You offspring of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil (wicked)? For out of the fullness (the overflow, the superabundance) of the heart the mouth speaks.
O progeny of vipers who are such by nature, how is it possible that you are able to be speaking good things, being by nature pernicious individuals, for out of that which fills the heart the mouth is accustomed to speak?
"You serpent's brood, how can you say anything good out of your evil hearts? For a man's words flow out of what fills his heart.
You brood of vipers! How can you, wicked as you are, say anything that is good? For the mouth talks about the things that fill (Greek, out of the fullness of) the heart.
